When you hear the term "Red Label," you might think we're talking about fancy whiskey. But when vintage Yamaha guitars are involved, "red label" means quality construction, good tone, and a price that won't break the bank.

This circa 1972 Yamaha FG-75 was built in Taiwan, and it features the period "Red Label" that collectors associate with a good guitar at a good price. The FG-75 is essentially a 00-size body with a solid Spruce top and laminate back and sides. Under the hood, it is ladder-braced, which makes it a great fingerpicking guitar with bluesy bite and growl. It has a 24.9" scale length, and a 1-3/4" nut width. In today's vintage market, there are few guitars that match up the overall value of a "Red Label" guitar—these are great sounding instruments that fit into any budget.

This (c.) 1972 Yamaha FG-75 is in clean cosmetic condition with no history of repairs breaks or issues. Sure, it shows the bumps and bruises we expect from a good vintage guitar (see photos—most severe is a scratch on the back), but it's in impressive condition for its age. It is setup with nice low action, and the original frets are still in great shape. It includes a period chipboard case.
